DARTZ Unveil New Single & Video 'Plastic White Chairs'
Absent from our airwaves ever since 2025's on-the-nose 'Moving to Melbourne', it turns out the members of DARTZ haven't just been soaking up Naarm's cosmopolitan eateries and dive bars. The first shot fired from their forthcoming third studio album, 'Plastic White Chairs' is much more than a rowdy homage to those ubiquitously cheap, flexible and elegantly stackable furniture items. It's a punk rock celebration of community generosity and a howl of outrage against our cynical political oppressors, belted out in English and te reo Māori.
Directed by Joe Curtis and made with support from NZ On Air, the accompanying clip for 'Plastic White Chairs' documents DARTZ prepping a mean feed and pouring bevvies at Newtown Bowling Club in their beloved hometown of Wellington, complete with a pub-rocking performance and triumphant concluding haka. Out today via Flying Nun Records, hit play on 'Plastic White Chairs' and don't miss the Tūī-award-winning team of Danz, Clark, Rollyz and Crispy's spring tour of Aotearoa — starting tonight with an all-ages gig at Newtown Bowling Club...
