At the climax of their world tour - all the way through Ponsonby Rd to K Rd - Gloria Florence & Liam Jacobson are joined by Arkades Club for some beautiful melodies and compelling poetry.
Gloria is an Auckland based singer songwriter who performs regularly at Cafe 121 and other venues around Auckland. She plays a blend of alternative country and folk music, drawing from her childhood growing up in the middle of nowhere and her teenage years playing punk rock. Her inspirations vary from Billie Holiday to Townes Van Zandt to The Stranglers. Playing an acoustic set she takes you to the heart of a young woman, knocked down but always getting right back up to write a song about it.
Liam’s poetry navigates an era of indulgence. From the heart of blurry Auckland, he writes of the love, chaos & growth within and around him.
He’s won some competitions he didn’t know he entered, performed in Scotland, Australia and around Aotearoa. Liam’s poetry is heat achingly beautiful and above all else compelling. Wise beyond his years and all around entertaining you do not want to miss him.
