Aura are having a party to celebrate the release of their first album.
Joining the revelry is Katharticus from Dunedin and another local ChCh act The Moon Spins.
Aura band are Christchurch’s most eclectic (and probably only) surf, punk, blues band delivering polish and grit in equal measures. Tasha Wolfe’s vocals drip with attitude, John Strong brings a mix of growl-tastic and melodic bass lines while Glenn Scott’s lead guitar vocabulary has just the right dash of dissonance to turn you inside out and back in again. Last but never least is the animal of a drummer Mike Harber delivering unique and unforgettable rhythms.
Aura will be onstage around 10.30
Katharticus are a three piece rock group from Dunedin with an ethereal brand of progressive rock, with heart pounding, soaring guitar solos, searching heartfelt lyrics and wild soulful drums that transcend western convention. The band is known for their mix of catchy rock tunes as well as progressive post punk styled instrumentals. Katharticus perform around 9.30pm
The Moon Spins aka Dave Duggan is back home in Christchurch after living in Chicago where he performed his original music.
His dark country/blues melodies intertwine with Lucy Looper to take you on a journey you do not want to miss.
Dave kicks off the show at 8.30pm
