This July, Keira Wallace will be celebrating their sixth single release, Leap/Landing, with a show in their hometown, Ōtepoti.
With an increasingly folk-influenced sound, 17-year-old singer/songwriter Keira Wallace curates unexpected lyrics and intricate chord voicings. Their reflections run deep through each song, shining a light on significant moments entangled with immense feelings, and resonating with warmth and cocooning vulnerability.
This single was created at SongHubs Ōtepoti in November 2022, in only 7 hours. With Keira as lead songwriter, co-writers Calla Knudson (Calla) and TJ ZEE (ZËxÏÏ), and producer Abigail Knudson (MISSY) also contributed their musical expertise to bring this expansive song to life. Leap/Landing encourages understanding that to experience the peaks of life to their full, we must endure the lows. The song tackles a fear of positive feelings when eventually, they all come to an end. Despite how these struggles can narrow our field of vision, support can be found in the people around us - people who will follow our leap and cushion every descent.
Joining the show will be folk artist Leigham Fitzpatrick and Jesse Hanan of IVY (solo).
