Caught Live: Noah Slee Plays Acoustic Version Of 'Soulflower'

A.K. / Thursday 1st August, 2019 10:33AM

Berlin-based Aotearoa / Tongan neo-soul artist Noah Slee is exploring his first release in two years, a superb and silky love song wrapped up in modern beats. The award-winning singer dropped his single 'Soulflower' about a month ago, along with a video and behind the scenes for it, and has today unveiled a stripped back, live acoustic version of the song. The visuals take 'Soulflower' to a quiet corner of director Adam Sait's Berlin apartment, where Noah Slee and three vocalists soar through the song with heavenly harmonies, framed by pink hues and house plants. Slee is looking forward to unveiling a new EP in the near future and explained his love for reigning the song in like this, "I really enjoy stripping something back to the bare minimum and it gives something new life and feel".

"The video was shot in my friend Adam Sait's apartment a few weeks ago. It already had a lot of plants in that corner but of course we wanted to add more. The artist singing are good friends of mine and also amazing artist releasing beautiful music. The boys are a part of a project called Fhat and Youka is a part of a project called Killbot Kindergarten who are actually recording some new music after a long hiatus.

Was nice to Soulflower with my friends in this setting and present the song in a new way, I really enjoy stripping something back to the bare minimum and it gives something new life and feel. Enjoy xx"
