Listen to Pieces Of Molly's New Album 'Don't Take Me To The Disco'
This Halloween Friday has been a big one for amp-blasting rawk, with fresh offerings from Queens Of The Stone Age and local rascals Thee Golden Geese, but Pieces Of Molly's new album may top the lot for sheer commitment to the riff. Jetting overseas in the coming weeks to tour the UK with Asomvel, the Canterbury crew serve up eight maximum energy anthems on Don't Take Me To The Disco, maintaining the fine Aotearoa tradition of fellow travellers The Datsuns (with whom they've shared the stage), plus an extra dose of Acca Dacca swagger.
Pieces Of Molly channel the in-the-red spirit of rock 'n' roll with an overload of frenzied guitar shred, bombastic percussion and barely tamed yowls, revealing their tender side during the album's closing moments with slow-burner 'All I Can See' (which could be ideal horror movie credits music). Turning cacophony into catchiness on brand new numbers 'Gatecreeper', 'Unicorn' and the seasonally appropriate 'I'm Gonna Drink Your Blood', there's no doubt Pieces Of Molly's hometown launch gig will be a rowdy one next Friday at A Rolling Stone "That sounds sick" for sure — grip Don't Take Me To The Disco on vinyl LP and go catch Pieces Of Molly while you can...
"We are at heart a high energy rock n roll band and this one is no exception. It’s about slimy characters, and nepotism" — Pieces Of Molly on their new single 'Gatecreeper'
